About this operation

The price is the product.

Cash Medical exists for one group of people: Americans paying for healthcare out of their own pocket. That's roughly 27 million uninsured people, plus millions more with deductibles so high they're functionally self-pay.

The US healthcare system has three prices for everything — the fictional "chargemaster" list price, the negotiated insurer rate, and the cash rate almost nobody tells you about. Uninsured patients get billed the worst of the three by default. We think that's a scandal, and this site is our answer to it: put every number on the table.

What we actually do

Why Colombia

Colombia's health system was ranked #1 in the Western Hemisphere and #22 globally in the WHO's 2000 world health system assessment — ahead of the United States. Several Colombian hospitals hold hospital-level JCI accreditation, every licensed physician is verifiable on the government's public ReTHUS registry, and Medellín and Bogotá are a 3–5 hour flight from most US hubs, in US time zones.

Typical cash savings versus US self-pay rates run 40–75% across the elective verticals we cover — and unlike a US hospital bill, Colombian providers quote all-in cash prices upfront, because cash is how their private market already works.

Ground truth means showing up · In-person vetting is the whole point

I'm Andy. I'm American, I live in Medellín, and I run the ColombiaMedical.co network from here. That last part matters more than any marketing claim: I can physically walk into the clinics I discuss, meet the coordinators, and see the facilities — something no US-based referral service can do.

I'm not a doctor, and nothing on this site is medical advice. What I am is the person who checks the ground truth, keeps the pricing honest, and answers the WhatsApp line myself.
